John Edwards

John Edwards, Canadian citizen, has 32 years of experience in island real estate, sales and construction. From 1980-1992 he was instrumental in developing a major portion of the subdivisions on Ambergris Cay, Belize, other developments include the Mayan Princess Resort Hotel and the Belize Yacht Club. In 1992 he moved his business to Roatán, a tropical Caribbean island located in the Bay Islands off the coast of Honduras.

With the ideal combination of experience and vision, Edwards was a key force in developing the Bay Islands’ real estate market and attracting foreign investment. He and his team have played a major role in the development of Roatán and its promotion as a tourism destination.

Mr. Edwards is the largest developer and real estate company on the Bay Islands. His developments include: Parrot Tree Plantation Beach Resort / Marina with its spectacular oceanfront and ocean view home sites, charming marina-front villas and completely integrated resort, Parrot Tree’s 200 acre gated community is the most prestigious residential neighborhood and premier planned development in Honduras. In 2003 this development received the Copan Award for Excellence in Tourism. His other developments include, Lighthouse Estates, Coral Sands, Mayan Princess Beach Resort, La Sirena and future plans include Marbella Beach Resort — a full service 456 Beach Front Condo Hotel Village with all the amenities including Dive Operation, and possible Casino Operation, in order to provide the opportunity to hold large special events, yet cater to the every need of its owners and guests. He is also a member of the Caribbean Hotel Association, Board of Directors for CANATURH-Bay Islands (The Bay Islands Chamber of Tourism), member of the Roatan Chamber of Commerce, Roatan Rotary Club and has been on the Roatán Realtors Association Board of Directors.

Mr. Edwards passed away on February 9th 2020. He will be greatly missed.
